Cow Pie Cross

Yes, it is exactly as it sounds.  Russell, Logan and I had free reign with our own car.  We took off for the Epenoy CX race at about 10:30.  It was 109k and took about 1:45.  It was all new roads from what we have been on.
Two Castles guarding the pass through the rocks
We arrived about 2 hours before the race started and there was not a soul around.  There was a bunch of tape strung through a cow pasture and we started to question if the race was actually going to happen.
Euro Ford transit race mobile.  Who is the monkey on the goal post?
So finally, about 30 minutes later cars start pouring in.  A couple team cars with guys who looked really pro but were not very fast.  We rode a couple laps and it was the worst course EVER.  We were the first bikes that ever rode through this field.  It was sooo bumpy.  There were even a few freshies in the pasture to avoid.

full suspension course for sure
After a stinky, 2 lap pre-ride, we headed over to registration.  Our names were on the list because Paul sent our USAC permission letters over.  We signed in, gave them our licenses and got our numbers.  We get our licenses back when we return the numbers.  We raced for free. They never took our money.  Sweet!
The race started all group and categories together.  I was on the front and then let Russell back in.  Nice.  I had a terrible start and Russell went into the first corner in 4th.  I moved up the whole race and ended up in 8th and Russell was up the road in 4th.
Thanks Logan
Wow, that race hurt like no other.  Every race or bad test will be compared to Cow Pie CX.  What?  Oh, the biopsy was awesome compared to Cow Pie CX.
Russell and I "did that just happen?"
We even had to stay around for the awards this time.
Woman's podium.  Cow posters, yep, cow pie cx
gimme my money!

The Frenchies on the podium even asked if we were going to be racing the whole French series.  Next week we have to break up the front threesome.
French CX payday.  11 Euros, pure profit.

  1. Very bumpy technical course today at JR Ranch, it was fun watching the roadies suffer! No cowpies though, had a spotted cow during halftime between my two races! Needed the carb loading!
